South African academics and Doctors Without Borders urged President Ramaphosa to reject a proposed WTO compromise on Covid‑19 patent waivers, warning it offers little real access to vaccines, treatments, or diagnostics. Media Statement: Post-COP26, we need more decisive action and commitment from SA Government

PHASA’s post‑COP26 statement urges South Africa to take stronger climate action to meet Paris Agreement goals, end fossil fuel subsidies, and pursue a just energy transition. It highlights rising climate‑related health risks and calls for resilient, low‑carbon health systems and bold leadership to secure a healthy, sustainable future for all.
