Professor Gail Hughes receiving recognition at APHA

Gail Hughes, Professor at the University of the Western Cape and Chair of PHASA’s special interest group on Integrated, complementary, alternative and traditional health practices¬†(I-CATHP SIG) received recognition and honour from the American Public Health Association (APHA) Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Section for her contributions to global health and wellness research, and dedication to educating students.

This took place at the 143rd APHA Annual Meeting and Expo held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, 31 October-4 November 2015. Professor Hughes is a member and part of the leadership team for the APHA CAM Section which has more than 400 members. She is also co-chair of the student committee responsible for recruitment, and mentoring.
