Presentation: The Confluence of Contemporary Peace Psychology Conceptions

The Confluence of Contemporary Peace Psychology Conceptions and the Quest for Just Peace in South Africa is the topic of a presentation held by Prof Daniel J. Christie (Department of Psychology, Ohio State University; Institute for Social and Health Sciences, University of South Africa; South African Medical Research Council – University of South Africa Violence, Injury and Peace Research Unit.)

This presentation will highlight ways in which the thrust of contemporary peace psychology is confluent with the aspirations of South Africans who are committed to inventing spaces for horizontal peacemaking within communities combined with vertical peace building that transforms political structures toward equitable arrangements that satisfy life-enhancing human needs.
