Pharmaceutical Public Health Short Courses at University of Western Cape, South Africa Winter School 2015

Two one-week short courses on medicines use and management will be offered during the School of Public Health (SOPH) Winter School at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). These courses will be facilitated by staff from the SOPH and School of Pharmacy at UWC, Prof Richard Laing from Boston University (formerly WHO) and SIAPS/Management Sciences for Health, with input from the South African Department of Health. These courses were first offered in 2014 and were attended by participants from most provinces in South Africa, Namibia, Sudan and Iran.

The dates of the courses are:

  • Rational Medicines Use Course: 29 June – 3 July 2015
  • Medicines Supply Management Course:– 6 – 10 July 2015

The courses are targeted at health professionals including pharmacists, doctors, and nurses involved in medicines use and management at all levels of care.
