Lecturer (Developmental) (5 Posts) UKZN

The College of Health Sciences would like to improve the demographic representation of academics in its Schools through nurturing excellent potential academics and integrating them into the academic profession. The College Lecturer (Developmental) posts are therefore aimed at young or aspiring academics with no or limited experience in academia but with potential and interest to pursue an academic career. Candidates will be expected to register for a doctoral degree. The successful applicants will report to the Dean and Head of School in the respective schools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A relevant Masters’ degree.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete a PhD within 5 years of date  of assumption of duty.

A brief statement of motivation regarding the applicant’s aspiration to become an academic and a researcher must accompany the application.

Remuneration package: R350 000 per annum, inclusive of benefits. The closing date for receipt of applications is 07 November 2014. The University, however, reserves the right to accept late applications or to extend the above date in order to facilitate further searches.
