Main Functions and Responsibilities

Day-to-day implementation and management of pre-ART linkage and ART adherence and retention patient support strategies for age groups 6-14 and 14-25 at Site C Youth and Ubuntu clinics in Khayelitsha specifically to:

  • Implement, facilitate, manage and monitor the daily activities and operations of patient support services at Site C Youth Clinic in Khayelitsha including HCT counselling, ART initiation preparation counselling model, pre-ART non-ART eligible education and counselling sessions, Youth ART clubs and follow up of those at risk of being lost to care.
  • Implement, faciliate, manage and monitor the daily activities and operations of the adherence support for children and caregivers at Ubuntu Clinic, including family ART adherence clubs as well as support and follow-up for caregivers and children who have missed appointments or defaulted on treatment
  • Manage Zip Zap Circus partnership with MSF specifically the Ibongelethu programme and the World AIDS Day annual event
  • Lead community awareness activities with the aim of increasing uptake and retention in HIV and ART services among target population specifically making use of weekly local radio slots
