12th INDEPTH Scientific Conference 28- 31 October 2013

The International Network for the Demographic Evaluation of Populations and their Health (INDEPTH), together with the Wits School of Public Health and Statistics South Africa, cordially invites you to participate in the 12th INDEPTH Scientific Conference. This conference will be hosted at the Wits School of Public Health from the 28th – 31st of October 2013.

The theme for the 12th INDEPTH Scientific Conference 2013 is ‘The contribution of INDEPTH to strengthening national health information systems’. Major sessions will demonstrate the diversity of disciplines represented at the Conference by addressing a variety of topics ranging from adult (29 Oct) and neonatal health (30 Oct) to climate change and innovative data collection solutions (29 Oct). There will also be a round table session (31 Oct) with Editors from high impact journals including: Lancet Global Health, Global Health Action and African Population Studies.

Your presence will be greatly appreciated especially for the following Conference events:

  • Conference opening on Monday 28 October 2013 9.00 am sharp Auditorium of School of Public Health – Education Campus, University of the Witwatersrand
  • Conference Opening Cocktail Reception on Monday 28 October 2013 at 5.30 pm Adler Museum Wits Medical School, University of the Witwatersrand
  • The Conference Celebration on Wednesday 30 October at 6 pm Constitution Square, Constitutional Court

This Conference will highlight the importance of research to health and development, and in evaluating the impact of critical interventions. It presents an opportunity to engage with leading African and Asian investigators and scientists active in in multi-disciplinary health research.
