Nominations for Vice-President/President-Elect (2014-2016) WFPHA

As per the By-Laws of the WFPHA, the Vice-President/President-Elect is elected every two years at the time of the General Assembly. The election for a new Vice-President/President-Elect will be held during the 47th General Assembly, which will take place on May 18, 2014 in Geneva.

The Vice-President/President-Elect will serve a two-year term (2014-2016), before becoming President of the WFPHA in 2016, also for a two-year term. This is a voluntary position.

The WFPHA Nominations Committee invites national public health associations which have Full Member status in good standing to nominate candidates for this position. Candidates can either be existing members of the Federation’s Governing Council or members of national public health associations. Preferably, nominees should have served on the WFPHA Governing Council and be familiar with the Federation’s governance process. Please note:

  1. Candidates should be fluent in English, the working language of the WFPHA.
  2. The public health association which nominates the successful candidate will be expected to provide logistical support to the Vice-President/President-Elect during his/her term of office in this capacity and as well during their term as WFPHA President (a four-year commitment).

Nominations should be forwarded no later than October 31, 2013 to the Chair of the Nominations Committee, Prof. Ulrich Laaser, at and to the WFPHA office in Geneva ( Please note that all nominations will be confidential.
