Workshop in Research Application to Policy

Interpreting research findings to improve the design and implementation of public health policies is a critical skill for policy makers.  This workshop will develop participants’ ability to read the public health literature critically and to integrate evidence into policy design.

The workshop will focus on critical analysis of a set of research articles addressing one or two selected current issues in managing the HIV epidemic. Through in-class discussions participants will explore the methods used in the studies, evaluate their results and conclusions, and consider how the results could and should be used to improve South African health policies.

Course offered by the Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office (HE2RO) at Wits University.

No course fee.
