Health Impact Assessment Consultant

Digby Wells & Associates is looking for a candidate who will conduct Health Impact Assessments and educate and make recommendations to the client and the public/community.

Job Requirements

  • Maintain awareness and an up to date knowledge of regulatory requirements to the country for clients and how legislation impacts projects;
  • Assist in conducting Health Impact Assessments in South Africa and Africa;
  • Conduct literature reviews and use of scientific websites to produce health data;
  • Participate in the development of and conduct community health based questionnaires and / or household surveys;
  • Analyse data and identify potential impacts to the health of the community;
  • Develop mitigation and management plans;
  • Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation programmes;
  • General Administration including (compiling proposals, printing, binding, typing etc.);
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships (For e.g. Clients, laboratories, other departments, government etc.)
  • Willing to travel, locally and within Africa.

The successful candidate holds a Masters degree in natural sciences (e.g. Environmental management, Virology, Medicine) and has a minimum of one to two years’ experience in a community health role.

An all-inclusive remuneration package will be on offer. Applicants need to be prepared to undergo a complete psychometric evaluation as part of the selection process.
