SAHR 2011, DHB 2010/11 and Preliminary Audit Report

The Launch of the South African Health Review 2011, District Health Barometer 2010/11 and Announcement of the Facility Improvement Teams, organised by the Health Systems Trust (HST), was held on 23 February 2012.

The 'Highlights from SAHR 2011' were presented by Professor Laetitia Rispel, Chairperson HST Health Systems Research Committee and the 'Highlights from DHB 2010/1' by Dr Tim Wilson, Chairperson HST Health Systems Strengthening Committee. Ms Ronel Visser, HST Director Programme, gave a 'Summary of Facility Audit Results'. All the presentations can be found here

The preliminary audit report of South Africa's health facilities shows a majority of institutions to be dirty and also questions patient safety in these services, as was reported in Health-e news on 28 February in the article 'Serious need to clean up health'.
