Chief of Party and Team Leader, Awareness and Advocacy

BroadReach Healthcare is currently recruiting for two full time positions for a Chief of Party (COP) and Team Leader, Awareness and Advocacy candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded proposal bid in South Africa to combat gender-based violence, particularly sexual assault.

Chief of Party

Desired Experience and Qualifications

The COP will be responsible for providing leadership, management, strategic technical guidance, and facilitating collaboration with USAID, the South African Government and institutions. Overall responsibilities will include technical and administrative oversight, fiscal management, and grants management to assure quality, impact, and cost effectiveness. Specific responsibilities will include developing and designing work plans; monitoring and evaluating project activities to ensure project goals are met; management and supervision of project staff; and, maintenance of donor relationships to ensure coordination with other donor activities. COP-level applicants also should have in-depth knowledge of gender based violence issues in South Africa and developing and managing complex donor projects, and leading and supervising multi-disciplinary teams. A relevant graduate degree is required. PhD is strongly preferred. COP-level applicants must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the development sector, working with non-government organizations, government, and donor communities.

Team Leader, Public Awareness, and Advocacy

Desired Experience and Qualifications

The Team Leader will be responsible for leading public awareness and anti GBV campaigns, working closely with hospital and other health facilities as well as the local community. Other key duties include developing and/or revising training and advocacy materials according to the local context, working with national partners to implement relevant training sessions for multi-sectoral prevention and response actors, collect and compile program activity information, and evaluate progress and constraints toward achievement of annual work plans and related program outcomes. The candidate will have experience in public awareness projects and campaigns and demonstrable knowledge of gender based violence issues. A Bachelors Degree with 8 years of experience in gender issues is required. Applicants must have knowledge, skill, and experience in participatory methods for community development and mobilization, group facilitation skills and experience, and coalition-building skills.
