Prevention and Intervention Services Manager for Community Aids Response (CARe)

Background of Host Organization:

Community AIDS Response (CARe) is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that has been in operation since the year 2000 after its registration in 1999. CARe’s main activities are: HIV Counselling and Testing, Maternal and Child Health services, Tuberculosis services, Infection prevention and control, HIV Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), Adherence Counselling, Support Groups, Referrals, Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) Outreach, HWSETA Accredited and tailored trainings, Home Community Based Care, Nutrition Education, Defaulter Tracing, Poverty Alleviation, Youth Skills Development and Social Science Research

Degree Requirements:

A Masters degree in Public Health

Personal Requirements:

To apply for this position you must have completed a Masters Degree or have completed 80% of your Masters course work. South African citizenship or permanent residence is essential.


12 month full time contract

Commencement Date:

November 2011

Job Description:

Key performance indicators will include

  • Manage prevention, care and support programmes
  • Supervise Community Health Workers, Caregivers and Counsellors in hospitals, clinics and communities
  • Identifying possible donors for HIV/TB research, prevention, care and support projects
  • Participate in proposal writing
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports
