The 5th annual SAIHCM conference

The 5th Annual Conference of the South African Institute of Health Care Managers (SAIHCM) is scheduled to be held in Durban from 6-7 June 2011, at the Durban ICC. The SAICHM conference is an outstanding forum for health care managers to meet and to present their perspectives on current and future concerns and opportunities. SAIHCM strives to create opportunities to promote the health care management need for professionals and to celebrate effective leadership in health. We are very optimistic about the current improvements we have recently witnessed which can be directly linked to strong and innovative leadership and willingness by Government to embrace partnerships with civil society. This conference will focus on successful strategies for improving health care delivery in South Africa and a special focus will be on creative and innovative management solutions; ethics and management; health care delivery; and health and migration.

The 5th Annual conference is expected to draw health care managers from across all provinces in South Africa, and will represent both the public and private sector. We will openly debate and search for answers on important issues that are preventing us from achieving our goals. For the first time the conference is using a call for abstracts to highlight successes stories and showcase examples of innovative management.
